Overview

This one-day training offers a fantastic opportunity for frontline staff to gain practical knowledge to effectively help people to take steps to improve their wellbeing. It will be of interest to staff from primary care-based practitioners, mental health and social care professionals working in inpatient and community settings.

Course content

This workshop focuses on supporting people to make healthier choices. It will equip and prepare mental health professionals with the basic skills, knowledge, and confidence to promote health and wellbeing in service users.

At the end of this lecture the students should be able to.

  • Describe what a ‘healthy lifestyle’ means
  • Identify health behaviours you could incorporate into your lifestyle
  • Discuss the influence of the environment on human health
  • Describe the environmental factors that influence poor physical and mental health
  • Identify and offer advice to individuals reporting unhealthy lifestyle behaviours

Learning and teaching

Study mode: Synchronous online delivery via virtual classroom using one of the following web-based learning and teaching platforms (e.g. MS teams, Kaltura new row, Adobe Connect, Zoom).  The content on the day will be delivered via a mixture of PowerPoint presentation, small group exercise and discussion, group feedback and recap/quiz.

There are several funding options available:

  • Receiving course fees via CPPD contracts between NHS trusts and 91情色 University
  • Paying your fees. This course costs 拢60
  • Sponsorship by your employer.
